Our New Babies

Introducing....Big Al and Saban

They are the sweetest kittens and love to play. They love to cheer for the Crimson Tide on football Saturdays. Big Al is more subdued and he loves to nap. Saban likes to explore her surroundings. We are really enjoying them.

Happy October

Welcome to October everyone....Fall is in the air. I'm loving this weather. Brian and I worked out in the yard this afternoon because it was so beautiful. My brother sent me a new picture of my neice, Payton, who looks just like him. She went on her first camping trip this weekend. She's one up on Aunt Angela because I've never been. I'm sure she enjoyed it and probably didn't miss the electricity or indoor restrooms which are the two reasons I've never wanted to go. If I ever go, I guess I'll have to wear diapers. J/K. On another note, we are getting two kittens this weekend. I guess Alabama football has inspired us this year because we are going to name the boy, Big Al, because he is charcoal and bigger than his sister, and the girl will be named Saban. ROLL TIDE!!!

I've Been Moo-ed!!

I thought I was going to have to launch an investigation to find out who was responsible for the herd of cows in my front yard. There were lots of suspects, however, my coworkers, Winter and Alana confessed to the crime. Actually, the police were almost called. It all started with a phone call around 1am. My neighbor (aka neighborhood watchdog) called to tell me that a man was in my front yard. Brian jumped out of bed to find two men littering our yard with plastic cows. We went to check out this mischief and realized that now everyone on our street was going to know I was turning 30, by the gigantic sign placed in the yard as well as all the cows. It was a lot of fun and it's also good to know that if anyone ever tries to break in our house, our neighbor will call regardless of what time it is. Thanks ya'll.....this has been a memorable day. Now I'm about to go to the Melting Pot in a few hours for dinner...Yum!

Our "New" House

Well it's finally finished. The kitchen is complete and is 100% better. We also rearranged our living areas to take advantage of the cooler downstairs. I ended up with my own little nook area upstairs that I love to spend time in. I have put all my favorite things in it and it is also doubling as our game room. Our new design plan received rave reviews at last night's bunco. Everyone loved the look of our house. However, my sister-in-law Malerie was the only one that attended that had actually seen the old design so she could truly appreciate the difference. It has been a long process but we are loving the results. Leave a comment to let me know what you think.

Publix Grand Opening

Publix in McCalla is officially opened. All the corporate elite flew up from Lakeland to commemorate this event. They rolled out the red carpet, literally, and they had an ice sculpture at the door to greet everyone. They also had lots of goodies to sample throughout the store. The night was complete by an official ribbon cutting by the management team as we thanked our families and friends that were there for the event. Hopefully now my life can get back to normal and I can have some off days.

FYI, Target is secretly open as well in case you haven't heard. Their official grand opeing is Sunday but they opened Wednesday to try everything out.

What's New Around the House

Brian and I have been very busy this summer doing things around the house. We have installed some new landscaping outside as well as lighting. My kitchen has been an ongoing process that started last fall, but as of this morning, we are 95% finished. My new stove arrived this morning and I am so excited to get cooking on it. I've never had a convection oven or a warming drawer. So now I can truly be the hostess with the mostest and cook up a spread for any party. Or Grits! (as requested by Brian for breakfast in the morning)

For an update on the new store, it's only three weeks until it opens. I managed to get the next 8 days off so I'm resting up to get ready for the Grand Opening. I'll see you all there to give a goodie bag. Remember, 7 AM....July 23rd
